Getting things done (part 2)

So a while back, I posted my ideas for implementing a gtd system in my life.. Now, It’s time to report back on what has worked and what has not. I think it is important to remember what getting things done is all about- getting away from the computer!

Digital Stuff

I feel like I have a pretty good system for keeping my schedule straight and keeping my computer free of clutter. After months of experimentation, I decided what works best for me is to use iCal for scheduling and Omnifocus to keep track of to-do lists. The problem with iCal, while it is great for my needs, is that it’s not portable. Spanning sync solves this problem by syncing my iCal with my Google cal and my Google cal with iCal. I have been considering an iPod Touch purchase which would allow me to edit my calendar on the go. New (old) music

So recently I have started seriously listening to music again… the new Radiohead album is better than expected (great!). I have found some new stuff, but recently I seem to be attracted to older music.

  • Nick Drake- Pink Moon
  • David Bowie- Hunky Dory
  • David Bowie- Heros
  • Blonde Redhead- Fake can be just as good
  • Smashing Pumpkins- The Aeroplane Flies High
  • The Verve- A storm in Heaven
  • Stereolab- SoundDust

This is why I love Republicans

“A lot of parents have let their children down by letting them be swept up in the Harry Potter mania. At last the author, a Ms. J.K. Rowling, revealed the revolting truth: Dumbledore is a gay homosexual who doesn’t deserve to live on G-d’s green earth. Not only was Rowling obviously pushing Satan’s agenda, she was pushing the homosexual agenda as well.”

(from Bloggers 4 Brownback)

Wow,.. Dumbledore is a “gay homesexual”….. “Satan’s agenda”? I’m confused. Apparently people actually believe this stuff. I need to get out more.
