More on Aperture 2
I really like Aperture 2, in fact, this week I purchased Aperture 2 and officially made the switch from iPhoto to Aperture 2 for photo management and basic photo editing. The controls, newfound speed, keyboard shortcuts, and streamlined interface speak to me in way that Aperture 1.5 didn’t and for a pro app, its very user friendly. I hope to make the transition to a DSLR in the next few months so I’m using this time to become more comfortable with the basic functionality of Aperture before I dive into my first DSLR.

Aperture 2
Apple Pro Apps Crop, originally uploaded by legalnonresident.
Aperture 2 came out yesterday,.. the new interface which is very similar to Logic 8 (screenshots here) is very clean. It also incorporates some features from iPhoto 08′ (skimming, .mac capabilities, etc) and is much less resource intensive. iPhoto is good enough for now, but this looks like a worth upgrade… now the wait is on for a D80 price drop.

iPhone, sweet iPhone (and other musings)
If this is kool-aid I would love a drink. I read an article on “foxnoise.com” about how its possible to fake the iPhone interface for much less. They don’t get it. I had many doubts about this device untill I saw third party video of the iPhone in action. I thought that the iPhone would be a bust, but Apple really came through on this one. It looks amazing.
The combination of Apple software (Leopard) and the iPhone hardware makes for a great device, I will buy one when my contract with the dreaded SprintPCS ends next year. I replace my cell phone every year or so, at that rate, the iPhone will actually be cheaper after factoring in insurance costs on my shitty PCS phone and the fact that I am planning to purchase an iPod in the coming year.It has been a long/cray summer.
I’m almost finished with my Health Services (ASNT) web project and will (soon enough) be able to move on to other projects. I will start taking new web projects soon enough. I hope to redesign the front page in order to show off some of my work. It will happen… soon.

Open Source Apps
I am a fairly new Mac user and over the past few months I have tried out many apps, many were awful but a few work great. Now I have a chance to share my experience and make a few recommendations. The qualities I look for are usability (UI + overall design) and performance (no memory hogs please), Here goes..
