Many people have already seen this. I have not… until today. It made me laugh, hopefully it will make you laugh as well. 

I found an interesting interview with Richard Linklater from July 2006 with Terry Gross (of NPR), just before the release of his film adaptation of A Scanner Darkly by: Philip K, Dick. They cover Scanner, Fast Food Nation and some of his earlier films. I can’t explain it, but I really enjoy Linklaters’ work. It has some very unique quality,… once again, very difficult to explain, however Terry Gross touches on it briefly. Enjoy!

So I had my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. I must say that I don’t remember the surgery and the first few hours were great, but after the initial pain medication wore off, life became more complicated. I laid in bed for almost 24 hours without moving, with some assistance from codeine and a few other meds (I will spare you the gory details), I am beginning to recover and I just ate for the 1st time in 36 hours! So I have been attempting to keep my mind in a happy place and I have ran across a few fun items. Here goes.

Seriously.. Thanksgiving makes me sick. I woke up this morning to the smell of ham, turkey and turkey neck gravy. I was promptly informed after dragging myself downstairs that there was ham, bacon and sausage to eat with biscuits and eggs for breakfast. Gross! I think they want me to develop heart disease! After discovering once and for all that turkeys can’t even have sex because of selective breeding and genetic engineering (their breasts are physically too large!), I have come to the conclusion that I will no longer be thankful on Thanksgiving participate in Thanksgiving. I never want to smell turkey neck again!

So recently, I helped a friend out who was participating in the Apple 24 hour film festival. I didn’t do very much, just stay up for 26 hours or so  to ensure that they would have a space to edit and I even did a bit of audio work at the end. The point is, I saw how much work they put in on their project and I was very impressed (to say the least). More recently (today) I was checking out some other entries, when I came across this one. I am calling bullshit.. they have a f-ing helicopter… they must have done some pre-shooting. Who has a helicopter at their disposal.. even in Utah.. !!?? In other news, I ran across another film that is pretty hilarious- I actually believe was shot and edited in 24 hours..  check it out.
